A concrete contractor forms, pours, places, finishes and installs specified mass, pavement, flat and other concrete works, and places and sets screeds for pavement flatwork. This class shall not include contractors whose sole contracting business is the application of plaster coatings or placing and erecting of steel or bars for the reinforcing of mass, pavement, flat and other concrete work.
Course Description
The Concrete Manual briefly covers the major topics of the State exam including Concrete, Portland Cement, Classification of Mixes, Admixtures, Placing Concrete, Consolidation, Finishing, Curing, Formwork, and Reinforcement. The manual also includes a Glossary. The last section of the Concrete Manual covers the Health and Safety Orders.
The Math Review Lecture covers the first part of the Concrete manual which is on Math. The Concrete lecture covers the topics addressed in the manual specific to the C-8 trade exam. The Health and Safety Lecture covers the Health and Safety Orders at the end of the Concrete manual.
